Major effects: because it was heavy rainfall for a month, supplies were the biggest problem.
What worked well: transported more than 250 tonnes of emergency supplies
What didn’t work well: Access to house areas is still difficult as the roads have been washed away.
How long did recovery take: Still has some side effects.
Suggestion:Three refugee camps near a river have been flooded. So I think they could build refugee camps more near a mountain side.

Where- Areas of Sabah, Malaysia
What- 147 mm of rain in 24 hours.
Why-In fact, the heavy rain has been falling since Saturday 04 Oct 2014 and has inundated low lying areas across the state.
When- Between 06 and 07 Oct 2014
Who-Mostly citizens who are living there.

What worked well: Many people evacuated to higher ground
What didn’t work well: Rain has been so heavy that local media are reporting that the Babagon dam has been overflowing, making the flood situation worse for local resident.
How long did recovery take: Mostly it is recovered but some houses are still working on recovery.
Suggestion: I think it is good that most people evacuated to higher ground, but I think they could open dam before flood happened, so that dam won’t overflow.

What worked well:many people evaluated so that more accidents didn’t occur from flash flood.
What didn’t work well: Rescuers couldn’t find missing people well.

Suggestion: Maybe NEMA or police officers could predict flash floods would happen and inform that to people by message or social medias. So that could prevent more accidents.

What...Rainfall for March over the area of northern Thailand was an extraordinary 344% above the mean . Bhumibol Dam in particular got 242.8 mm of rain, 224.7 mm above the normal 25.2 mm

What worked well: Despite the immensity of the crisis and broken communication channels, 15 emergency specialists, was on hand to respond with provision of clean water, shelter and basic sanitation, as well as by helping community canteens provide daily hot meals.
What didn’t work well: Delays in aid distribution led to angry appeals from aid workers and survivors, and looting and sporadic violence were observed.
